FAI Football for All Training at East Meath United

FAI Football for All Training at East Meath United, by Lara Synott EMU was delighted to welcome Oisin Jordan, the FAI Football for All national coordinator to the club for disability awareness training on Saturday 17th February. Ten coaches took part in the very informative and practical training day, which focussed on adapting coaching sessions for people with a range of disabilities. The training was an important milestone in the club's preparations for launching the Football for All programme, the first of its kind in the area. Football for All

Football for All coming soon to East Meath United, By Lara Synott East Meath United is getting ready to launch our FAI Football for All programme. The programme is designed for children of all abilities who would like to learn the basic skills of football in a safe and supportive environment. The programme will initially be open to primary school age children. Football for All will be delivered by a group of experienced coaches and support staff including special needs assistants and parents of children with special/additional needs and disabilities. We are currently accepting expressions of interest in the programme.

Parent to Volunteer…

Parent to Volunteer, an East Meath United Journey, by Padraig Roche It was a cold Thursday evening in November 2012.  An EGM (Emergency General Meeting) had been called for EMU.  I attended as a concerned parent whose son had just joined the ‘Nippers Academy.’  My son (5) were both already taken with how kind, patient and committed the Academy coaches were. Like the FAI, East Meath United aims to deliver football opportunities to children who may not ordinarily get a chance to play the ‘beautiful game’ #EMUFootball4All  As an ever-evolving community-based club, we would love your input and help. End of Year Awards

This years End of Year Awards are on Saturday 10th December at Bettystown & Laytown Golf Club, 14:00 -17:00. For many of the volunteers involved this is the best day of the year in East Meath United. A day where we all come together to reflect and celebrate. Coaches Charity Match, 2017

This year’s annual Coaches Charity Match is on Friday 9th December at Minnistown with a 20:00 KO. This event is growing year on year. We are delighted to announce the coaches have chosen to support the Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre. The Support Centre is situated in Georges Street, Drogheda, Co. Louth. It is a support centre for people living with cancer, their families and those who care for them. The centre offers holistic and complementary therapies, education and psychological support which is nowadays regarded as part of standard support for people with cancer. The centre is open to people

Success on the Pitch

AGM Update

With the end of this season looming East Meath United turned their attention to the AGM. Special thanks and recognition was afforded to both outgoing Chairman Aidan Talon and former Secretary, and current committee member Brendan Doyle both provided over two decades of service to the club and were at the forefront of the recent ‘save our club’ mission. Thank you again, Gentlemen! On the night, the committee grew to 15 members and the Club were delighted to receive such great support and enthusiasm from members for their 2020 Vision, ‘Football for All’ initiative and ‘Club in the Community’ responsibilities.
